Johannesburg - A 6-year-old boy has been killed in an accident in Soweto, Gauteng paramedics said on Wednesday.

He was on a roadside on Tuesday night when a passing car lost control and hit him, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks.

His body was found lying on the curb.

It was unclear why he was on the road late at night.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

Not only the should the driver have a case to answer to but the parents of this little boy should also face a culpable homicide charge.

Boy wasn't killed by a car, he was killed by the idiot driver.

@ Dexter, how old are u

      Jods - 2012-01-11 12:19

@ Eugene - what difference does it make, his point is completely valid.

      Kyle - 2012-01-11 12:54

@Jods - not really, unless you have inside information, only clues we have hear is that the driver lost control of is car. Do know why? Since it's not reported here it's hard to instantly lay blame on the driver, never mind the fact that this child was in the street alone at night?! must be nice to have all the answer and sit back and judge.

Honestly were was the mother of the child , how do u leave ur 6 year old child unattended , im sorry for there lost , but the parents should also have some responsibilities on this , and the drive no harm ,

Why was a 6 yr old on the roadside with no parents at night? Me thinks news 24 has left out 90% of story!

      Mark - 2012-01-11 11:42

Me too. Specially the part about the car (not the driver) loosing control.

This is very sad. The law enforcement should investigate why the boy was standing there.
