Boy, 7, run over by bus

A seven-year-old boy has been run over by a bus on his way to school in the Durban central business district, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics say.

Durban - A seven-year-old boy was run over by a bus on his way to school in the Durban central business district on Wednesday morning, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

"A seven-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was struck by a bus in the intersection of Pine and Prince Alfred Streets in central Durban this morning [Wednesday], said Netcare 911's Jeff Wicks.

He said the boy had injuries to his lower limbs and a possibility of head and spinal trauma and was rushed to hospital.

In another incident an off-duty police officer was injured when he fell off his motorcycle on the M41.

"It is thought that the man lost control of the bike while negotiating a bend. He was treated and stabilised," said Wicks.
