Johannesburg - A six-year-old boy died after falling out the second storey of a school in Johannesburg Central, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.
Police arrived at Providence Academy on Pritchard Street at 07:00 on Tuesday to find a crowd gathered around the boy on the pavement, said Warrant Officer Jerbes de Bruyn.
He said paramedics declared the boy dead on the scene.
The boy was believed to have been a pupil at the academy, although De Bruyn could not confirm this.
"The child's mother was contacted. She informed police that the child suffered from epilepsy and thought he maybe had a fit," he said.
An inquest docket was opened.
