Boy raped by mental patient

Pietermaritzburg - A 14-year-old boy being treated at Northdale Hospital was on Sunday allegedly raped by a mental patient at the hospital, The Witness reported on Tuesday.
The boy was allegedly raped by the 36-year-old man in a toilet.
The man's sister blamed the hospital, saying it handled the matter "poorly."
She told The Witness that her mentally unstable brother came home on Sunday afternoon after allegedly escaping from the hospital.
"[The hospital] only informed me of the rape when I phoned to inquire how he had been released from hospital.
"If I had not phoned them I wouldn't have known," she said.
Police investigations were continuing and the whereabouts of the suspect was not known.
