Johannesburg - A 16-year-old boy was stabbed with a knife at Hoër Volkskool in Heidelberg on Tuesday, Johannesburg police said.
The grade 10 pupil was stabbed in his left arm during a fight with another boy at the school, said Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate.
"After the incident, the suspect ran away and no arrests have been made yet," said Tshilate.
The wounded boy was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
This is one of several school stabbings the country has seen in recent months.
On Monday, a pupil believed to have been high on drugs, allegedly killed fellow pupil Jacques Pretorius, 16, with a sword at Nic Diederichs Technical High School in Krugersdorp.
The boy also stabbed and injured another boy and two gardeners. He will appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court on Wednesday on charges of murder and attempted murder.
