Knysna - A man is set to appear in court here in connection with the murder last week of 34-year-old Rosetta de Lange.
De Lange is the third woman to have been murdered in the area since October last year.
De Lange's naked body was found at 14:00 on Friday about 100m from her parents' home in Piramid Road, Hornlee West.
The suspect - her 29-year-old boyfriend - was arrested later in the day.
De Lange left her parents' home on Sunday a week ago to visit her boyfriend in Dam-se-Bos.
She never returned home. Her parents reported her as missing on Tuesday.
Captain Malcolm Pojie for police said it's suspected that De Lange was raped and strangled.
Heinrich van Rooyen from Hornlee has been in custody since December last year in connection with the other two murders - that of Jessica Wheeler, 19, and Victoria Stadler, 20.
A source close to the police investigation said "the investigation had to be done over as it wasn't done properly in the first place".
"Possible witnesses were never questioned, the scene was never properly examined and everybody knows there was a fight between police members about 'who the site belonged to'," the source said.
