Boys sodomise each other

Cape Town - The 14 boys who had been found to have been sodomising each other in a Cape Town suburb will not be facing criminal charges, the Western Cape police said on Sunday.

Superintendent Billy Jones said that although police were investigating a case of sexual assault, the boys aged between 5 and 11 years will not be charged.

Instead the youngsters will be referred to social workers for help, which included rehabilitation.

The boys have been sodomising each other since September last year until recently, after they were allegedly exposed to a pornographic movie by other older children at one of their homes.

The Sunday Times reported that the children's case was reported two weeks ago after an 8-year-old was caught naked in bed with his 3-year-old niece.

After the 8-year-old was caught, he alleged that two of his friends had sodomised him and this was confirmed by a doctor's examination.

The two friends also pointed out another boy after they were confronted, which led to other boys being linked.

Police have since confiscated pornographic material from one of the boys' homes.
