Burnt body is Veronique - cops

Cape Town - The body of a child who was burnt beyond recognition has been identified as that of missing Veronique Solomons, said police on Tuesday.
Inspector Bernadine Steyn said this was according to the results of DNA tests.
Police were investigating a case of abduction and murder.
Eight-year-old Veronique, a pupil at Steenberg Primary School, was last seen about 13:30 on Monday of last week.
She was seen riding on the back of a bicycle with a man.
A few hours later, the burnt body was found by a passerby in Zeekoevlei.
Police are looking for a man who is about 48 years old, 1.85m tall, of slender build, with a brown complexion and a green tattoo on the left side of his neck.
At the time he was seen, he was wearing a black tracksuit and white sport shoes.
