Bus crash: Families to get R1.5m

Bloemfontein - The R1.5m raised after the Workers' Day bus disaster is not to pay for the victims' mass funeral, a Congress of South African Trade Unions spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Other sponsors were being sought for this, said Fusi Nchabeng from Cosatu in the Free State.
The R1.5m - in a Cosatu trust fund - would be distributed after the funeral among the victims' families.
An analysis of their needs would be done to determine how much each should be paid, Nchabeng said.
Forty-nine of the 51 victims would be buried during a mass funeral on Sunday. The families of the remaining two had decided on private burials.
The funeral was to start at 09:30 in the Galeshewe Stadium in Kimberley, Nchabeng said.
Cosatu announced on Monday it had raised R1.5m for the trust fund set up for families of disaster victims, and was expecting more donations.
It released a list of 39 donors, including businesses and labour unions.
Memorial services for the victims are to be held across the country on Wednesday, with the two main services in Kimberley and Bethlehem.
