Johannesburg - A 15-month old baby, its mother and another woman were injured when a bus crashed into a house in Refilwe Township in Cullinan, Gauteng police said on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Johannes Jaftha said a 24-year-old bus driver hit the 35-year-old woman who had her baby on her back while she was walking in the street.
"The baby was flung from her back and (both) sustained serious injuries."
The bus then went through a fence and crashed into a house. The owner, a 37-year-old woman, was sleeping when the walls collapsed on her. She also sustained serious injuries.
Paramedics treated the injured on the scene before taking them to the Mamelodi Day Hospital.
The driver was expected to appear in the Cullinan Magistrate's Court shortly on charges of reckless or negligent driving and malicious damage to property.
