Mbombela - A strike by minibus taxi operators has resulted in the disruption of taxi and bus operations in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga police said on Thursday.

Taxi operators seem to be in dispute with the taxi association board over the issuing of operating licenses in the area, said Colonel Leonard Hlathi.

"The road between KwaMhlanga and Vaalbank has been closed as vehicles were earlier being pelted with stones," said Hlathi.

No arrests had been made.

A meeting was held between the different stakeholders and it was believed an agreement was reached.

"The road will be re-opened soon," said Hlathi.
