C-Max drama an 'inside job'

Johannesburg - The South African Prisoners' Organisation for Human Rights (Sapohr) said Sunday's hostage drama at Pretoria's C-Max prison could have been an inside job, SABC radio news reported on Monday.
On Sunday, a prisoner managed to obtain a gun, which he used to shoot dead another inmate and two warders before turning the gun on himself, apparently after a botched escape bid.
Saphor president Golden Miles Bhudu said all visitors were thoroughly searched at different points.
He said it's been alleged that a female visitor managed to smuggle a firearm into the most secure correctional facility in the country.
Bhudu has called for an independent multi-party judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the incident.
A joint police and Correctional Services investigation is under way.
