Johannesburg - A mini drug laboratory was discovered at a house in Kempton Park during a crime intelligence operation in which 52 people were arrested on Thursday, North Rand police said.
Superintendent Eugene Opperman said the suspects were arrested for various crimes, including murder, armed robbery and hijackings.
"During the operation throughout the North Rand area, we found a laboratory in the garage of a house. Chemicals and equipment used to manufacture the illegal drug CAT were found."
One man, in his twenties, was arrested.
Opperman said the laboratory was dismantled, and all the chemicals seized.
According to a preliminary investigation, the value of everything found is believed to be around R100 000.
The man is expected to appear in the Kempton Park magistrate's court on Friday.
