Cape Town cop shot, killed

Johannesburg - A police woman was shot and killed in Philippi East, Cape Town on Friday evening, Western Cape police said.

The 36-year-old constable was in uniform, driving a police car, when she was shot twice through the windshield at 18:40, Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said in a statement.

She was taken to hospital, where she died from her injuries. Her killers fled the scene, at the Islands, Philippi East.

She was unarmed and on her way to collect a parcel from her home in Khayelitsha at the time.

    this is very sad, I went to the crime scene. left after a few minutes cause I was angry, while a was running home I culvory intercepted me and accused me of the shooting, I explained myself at the station and was released, no stataement was taken, just my name surname anbd cell number and was let go, i fill very humilliated as I was arrested infroont of peopel I iknow , I dot have a problem with police doing their job but if they do it out of anger, it will ruin innocnet cicvillins lives and reputations Luvo Siko

      I'm sorry that happened to you. Very traumatic. The real perpetrator could have been there though, so it's a double-edged sword. Cops are damned if they do and damned if they don't...
