Johannesburg - A fourth person died on Tuesday afternoon after a fire in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, an official said.
Christina Lotz, 67, succumbed to her burn wounds at GF Jooste Hospital where she was being treated, Western Cape health department spokesperson Faiza Steyn said.
Lotz was the fourth one to die after a fire that destroyed a house and a backyard dwelling in Tafelsig on Sunday evening.
Minnie Simmons, 42, Charlene Simmons, six, and Amanda Claasen, 19, died in the blaze.
Lotz and 7-month-old Nathan Claasen - not 7-week-old as it was reported - were taken to hospital with deep burn wounds.
Claasen was still receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit at Red Cross Children's Hospital.
Disaster management centre spokesman Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said the cause of the fire was still being investigated.
