Cape Town cops appear for corruption

Cape Town - Three policemen accused of corruption appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's Court on Monday, the National Prosecuting Authority said.
Warrant Officer Johnny Thomas Damanse, 48, and Constables Lesley Marco Engelbrecht, 28, and Charles Adrian Faro, 30, would appear again next Thursday for bail applications, spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said.
They face charges of theft, dealing in drugs, and defeating the ends of justice.
The three were arrested on Friday when they reported for work.
