Cape Town set to sizzle again

Cape Town - The respite the Western Cape has had from sweltering heat, is over.
The South African Weather Service has predicted searing temperatures for the Western Cape for the next few days and Cape Town can expect a maximum of 33° on Friday.
Even minimum temperatures will be up - at times hitting 20°
According to Rashid Khan, district head of the department of waterworks and forestry, the recent rains will not have much effect on the low dam levels.
At best, the 25mm of rain that fell in Cape Town at the weekend will only slow down the rate at which dam levels are dropping.
Dams that supply water to the Peninsula are jointly only 39.6% full against 57.5% and 86.5% in 2004 and 2003, respectively.
But Khan is confident that the little rain that fell will provide the metropole and surrounding areas with enough water to see them through to the next rainy season.
Khan does not expect the Mother City to reach its target of only 20% usage.
"It's time the municipality clamped down on individual water users and finds out why some households and businesses are using more water than others," he said.
