A teenager suspected of belonging to a gang has been killed in the Cape Flats.WATCH

Johannesburg - The case against one of the men accused of killing Cape Town schoolboy Glenric Martin will resume in the Western Cape High Court on Thursday.

Jevon Snyman is accused of shooting Martin in the back of the head as he entered the Spes Bona Secondary School in Athlone on the Cape Flats in May last year.

At a pre-trial conference last month, William da Grass said his client, Snyman, was also likely to opt for plea-bargain proceedings.

He said he first needed to discuss the possibility with Snyman's family.

Syman and co-accused Wilston Stoffels previously abandoned their bail applications.

During his last appearance last month, Stoffels was sentenced by Judge John Hlophe to 24 years for the murder, seven years for gang offences, three years for illegal possession of a firearm and a year for illegal possession of ammunition.

The sentences would run concurrently.

He admitted he and Snyman had been part of a criminal gang called the Young Americans.

He said they received an order from senior gang members last year to kill Martin because he was a member of a rival gang.

Stoffels was 18 at the time, and Snyman 19.
