2010-06-19 12:36

Cape Town - A drug bust on the N1 highway outside Beaufort West has resulted in the confiscation of tik with an estimated street value of R3m, Western Cape police said on Saturday.

Police stopped a yellow Volvo bus in the early hours of Friday morning travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town, said Captain Bernadine Steyn.

"The bus was searched during which a box containing ten plastic bags of tik, about 10.5 kg, was found.

"The drugs were not in the immediate possession of any person on the bus and therefore nobody has been arrested at this stage," said Steyn.
