Cape student's killer sought
Cape Town - Police are still looking for the killer of a 21-year-old student who was fatally stabbed during a burglary at a house in Woodstock, Western Cape police said on Friday.
Sergeant Hilton Malila said the business management student, identified by Die Burger as Dane van Zyl, was at home on Thursday morning when the burglar attacked him.
He had been stabbed numerous times, but was still alive when he was found by his 26-year-old brother.
He was taken to the Chris Barnard Memorial Hospital, but died shortly after arrival.
Malila said the killer got away with a laptop and a PlayStation.
Forensic experts were still on the crime scene gathering information.
Die Burger reported that this was the second murder in Woodstock in three days.
A 25-year-old unidentified man was stabbed to death in Albert Road on Tuesday night.
The newspaper reported that at least two academics and two students from the University of Cape Town had been murdered in the same area since 2006.
