Johannesburg - Two people were killed in a head on collision between a truck and a car on the M25 near Bapsfontein on Saturday, paramedics said.

Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokesperson Mveli Nhlapo said the driver of the Corsa Lite car had lost control of the vehicle on a curve before it drove into the trailer of one of the trucks.

"Speed can not be ruled out in the accident," he said.

The 32-year-old driver, along with another passenger of the car, were taken by ambulance to the Tembisa hospital in a serious condition.

Another passenger was airlifted to the Charlotte Maxeke hospital in a critical condtion.

Nhlapo said the men were driving home from Brakpan to Tembisa on the road between Bapsfontein and Kempton Park.
