Johannesburg - Four people were killed when their car hit two cows in the road between Moletlane and Ga-Ntamatsi near Mokopane on Thursday night, Limpopo police said on Friday.
The victims were a 43-year-old man and his two children, aged three and eleven, and a 41-year-old friend, said Inspector Madimetja Makgakge.
The car, a Toyota Corolla carrying seven people, overturned and the four were killed instantly. The three other passengers were injured and taken to Mokopane hospital.
Makgakge said it appeared the two cows were sleeping in the middle of the road when they were struck and killed by the car.
Police were tracing the owner of the cows, who would be charged with negligence contributing to the death of four people, Makgakge said.
