Johannesburg - A man was killed when his car crashed into the side of a bus on the N1 south outside Polokwane on Monday, paramedics said.

The car was completely destroyed in the accident and the driver did not survive, ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said.

"The front of the vehicle was literally shredded and crushed into something almost unrecognisable... The driver suffered extensive injuries."

Witnesses said the vehicle suddenly swerved and hit the side of the bus that was passing on the opposite side of the highway, Jackson said.

The passengers in the bus were not injured.

How fast must one be going to cause this much damage? Air bags? Seat bags? Brain? It's a pitiful way to improve the gene pool.

@Neil and Jack. 1) He did not drive like an idiot. 2) He did NOT commit suicide. He had a seizure while he was driving. He was only 19 years old. Keep your snotty uninformed sneers to yourselves please. I knew hom very well, and in your entire life you can but only wish to know somebody as stunning as Gregory. Yes, that was his name :-(

Oh and Neil, how come you were not FB friends with him? You said you knew him. Yeah right

I cannot believe that people just assume he was driving like an idiot. That person is someones child. Speaking about them as if they were nothing. That is just not humane. May you rest in peace Gregory.
