Johannesburg - A pedestrian was killed and four others were injured after two vehicles collided and crashed into a brick wall in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni metro police said on Saturday.
A Toyota Hilux collided with a six-ton truck after one of them failed to stop at an intersection on Saturday, said spokesperson Inspector Kobeli Mokheseng.
"The driver of the Toyota and that of the truck lost control of the vehicles and swerved to the sidewalk, knocked over a few pedestrians and plunged into a spaza shop wall."
Bricks from the wall fell onto the pedestrian, and he died on the scene.
The other pedestrians, four males and a female aged between 16 and 65, were rushed to Tembisa hospital for treatment.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened at the Tembisa police station, said Mokheseng.
