Cop being probed over false plates

2011-09-13 07:10

Pretoria - Tshwane's deputy metro police chief is to be investigated over allegations that he used false number plates on his cars, a municipal spokesperson said on Monday.

Tshwane spokesperson Pieter de Necker said that Tshwane metro police deputy chief Ndumisa Jaca had been called to a meeting with the "city leadership".

He said Jaca had been given time to respond to the allegations, which were broadcast by Eyewitness News on Talk Radio 702 last week.

Democratic Alliance spokesperson Karen Meyer said the allegations were "no surprise" and urged that Jaca be suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

Note to all road users - if you drive with illegal number plates on your vehicles, you will be called in to a meeting! No such a bad deal huh? What is good for the goose, is good for the gander...

      onthefence - 2011-09-13 07:50

I would think in that between a few Johny Blues....he will be told that he has been very naughty...very very naughty...and that as quick as he can he should get the correct number plates on his vehicles.

      Amsterdammer - 2011-09-13 08:16

His "PUNISHMENT" will be to PAY FOR THE JOHNNY BLUE'S....

      Lekabisto - 2011-09-13 08:51

He is probably being grilled on why he is not sharing the spot where he got the fake number plates with the rest of them!

      IC1 - 2011-09-13 08:55

Exactly, NOT LOL, our asses go to jail, these puppets get Coke and Kentucky at a meeting and then a promotion

      willieman - 2011-09-13 11:32

Mr Mayor take strong action agaist this man.You promised during elections that you gonna cleanup.Good governance will be the order of the day

      John Right - 2011-09-13 11:34

Bobejaan klim die berg, so hastig en so lastig bobejaan klim die berg om die boere te vererg ... Thats all I have to say.

  • PB - 2011-09-13 07:35

How utterly rediculous - he is going to have some lame excuse and then everything will disappear under the carpet - after being suspended on a huge salary for a year or two. Then he will get a promotion. Judge moegoe has been appointed especially to protect a-holes like this - after all, he has called the ANC his 'employers' more than once.

      Paul - 2011-09-13 08:15

He is going to say it was done to protect his identity. Then the council members will say "what a good idea" and all go out and do it.

      Pupuzela - 2011-09-13 08:25

He'll plead Dyslexia, which is quite plausible I suppose.

  • Susannomore - 2011-09-13 07:51

Why is it that the rules are different for some? I am getting ticked off with this. Jaca should be a role model, an example. He should not be allowed any grace and should suffer the consequences the same as any other citizen.

      Amsterdammer - 2011-09-13 08:17

Jaca IS a role model.... for a COCKROACH!

  • nyatiphotography - 2011-09-13 07:53

There should be no meeting - Full Dismissal disciplinary and he should be fired and leave the position with immediate effect. He is a Policeman for gods sake. Absolutely DISGUSTING!!!!

  • Bluffbandit - 2011-09-13 07:53

I am going to get false plates.. what a good idea.. These crimnals are so clever..

      Amsterdammer - 2011-09-13 08:17

Just think.... NO TOLL FEES!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • d2eguy - 2011-09-13 07:54

more dishonesty at the highest level , no wonder the ANC appointed judge moegoe moegoe to protect all the corrupt members in the ANC . its seems that honesty and integrity are just foreign concepts to the ANC and its members .

Can anybody tell me what is the salary of a metro police deputy chief? Last time I looked the salary scales were in the order of R30 to R50 000 per month... i would be quite interested to see how he would be able to afford a BMW convertable as well as a Harley Davidson on that salary. Unless he subscribes to the Malema school of business economics...

      oddearring - 2011-09-13 08:09

I think this ia more the question.

      Amsterdammer - 2011-09-13 08:19

What about that Metro Cop in Durban.... has Lambo's, Range Rovers, Porsches, top of the range Merc's etc.... Lives in a 8 bedroom Mansion... in La Lucia... Currently under investigation by the CHICKEN HAWKS... Not bad for a Council Employee... eh!

  • DeonOlivier - 2011-09-13 07:57

whats to investigate either the vehicles have false plates or they don't if they do they must be taken off the road and he must be fined and fired from his post for lack of integrity

      Lekabisto - 2011-09-13 08:57

Not how things works in the ANC, its more a matter of who is the baddest among them. he has probably just earned himself stripes of being the chief of Metro Police instead of the deputy, will probaly get a pay increase too.

  • caleb69 - 2011-09-13 07:59

Criminal!!!That is the only reason for false number plates, they are all around us, cannot trust the Police anymore

  • BadBoy79 - 2011-09-13 08:04

What a freaking joke this country has become!!!

  • nomercy - 2011-09-13 08:05

Whenever somebody prominent ( read ANC connected) is caught, there is this loooooong process of meetings, investigations, delays, postponements etc. We mere mortals have to pay up immediately or else face the consequences of being arrested at a roadblock, improsonment etc.

      Kevin - 2011-09-13 08:32

Just fire him . useless ars#

  • letsee - 2011-09-13 08:12

    Above the law.

      Jeanette Abdeaux - 2011-09-13 13:54

What law ? We are a lawless country !

  • Banana_Republic - 2011-09-13 08:19

OK, I get stopped by a speedcop breaking the law, I get a ticket, I have the option to go to court or pay the fine. No investigation necessary! Fine him, charge him and as he is a "respected" traffic officer discipline him - END OF STORY.

  • Kevin - 2011-09-13 08:30

  • Skietlood - 2011-09-13 08:39

Driving with false number plates is a CRIMINAL offence and does not even warrant a fine, its an arrest case. But some of us are more equal than others, aren't we?

      biskit - 2011-09-13 08:48

someone at the licensing department got it

      Bafo - 2011-09-13 08:53

Its the Animal Farm South Africa

  • braamc - 2011-09-13 08:53

Metro Police. Let us go to the atm then I will let you off, no wonder they get f&^%%%% up and die. Also a bunch of useless, stupid, thieving c^%%$nts

  • Gibbonater - 2011-09-13 09:57

Can I also use illegal number plates or is this only for the fat cats? Will I be called into a "meeting" if I get caught. I think layers should start using judgemts handed down to our fat cats in so called charge when defending their clients.

  • karabomtho - 2011-09-13 10:03

  • AndV - 2011-09-13 10:11

Why isn't he arrested, like anyone else would have been? He has transgressed the law and should be dealt with as such!

  • kalabafazi - 2011-09-13 10:19

Democratic Alliance spokesperson Karen Meyer said the allegations were "no surprise" My point exactly

  • Durbsdude - 2011-09-13 11:27

Another 'cop' like his supreme leader Robert McBride. All sown from the same filthy cloth.

  • Collitjies - 2011-09-13 12:28

Suspend him WITHOUT pay during investigations. A person of his standing should know better although all top brass ANC members are beyond the traffic laws in this darkest Africa country.
