Mmmmmm, the police these days think they can do what they want and that they are above the law. Just the other day I was driving past a "police officer" that is busy texting on his phone whilst driving, nearly driving into the back of another motorist. Maybe it wasn't his fault but I think we can assume taht he was travelling extremely fast as NEWS 24 yet again fails to deliver all the info...

@Typersa - Stop moaning would you please...

      MandrewZA - 2012-02-15 10:41

@Typersa. You may have a point here. I often see many different drivers and road users doing irresponsible and sometimes stupid things. Having little info to go on here, we can only speculate. I do however believe that we should report irresponsible, bad or stupid driving on www.drivelikeachop.co.za

      andre.badenhorst - 2012-02-15 15:00

What does the fact that he was an of duty cop have to do with the SAPS in general??? Neith News 24 nor you have enough facts to make any sort of statement, rather show some remorse towards this guys family for the trauma they are going through now.

      Zebelon - 2012-02-16 21:02

You are making assumptions and generalisations just to appear to have said something.

Amazing how news24 were criticizing the protection of information bill because it will affect the publics right to free speech. However deleted my post as soon as i criticized this article as tabloid journalism because the way it is worded implies that the police officer was breaking the speed limit when in fact there is absolutely no proof whatsoever to support those claims. It was high speed crash meaning, at highway speeds.

      Chyreene - 2012-02-15 10:29

      @Utopian: The R55 is not a highway

      donovan.botha - 2012-02-15 11:21

it is not often a vehicle is torne in half at highway speeds? i think it takes a little more speed to do that!

  • Jayb - 2012-02-15 10:39

i wonder where he was going to collect his bribe

      Randomhero6661 - 2012-02-15 12:44

  • Nyiko Ngobeni - 2012-02-15 10:50

People like to race on that road and its a bad idea because there's slow traffic and robots. I know it tempts me to show off my fast wheels too but I hold back. I mean what speed must u or the other car drive for ur car to be cut in half? Its crazy stuff

  • Deon - 2012-02-15 10:52

  • Adrian - 2012-02-17 11:34

In the light of the comments i have just read , it is so easily to follow an assumption when reading a news report or a short paragraph, but in essence of what has happened to that police officer, we have to trust his judgement and decision at the time, we all make decisions at the crucial second of life. i solute for his bravery and serve no judgement upon him. all due condolence to his family. His a hero.
