Mthatha - An Eastern Cape policewoman was arrested on Sunday for taking money in return for jobs.
Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said the 38-year-old inspector was a field trainer at a police station in the Drakensberg.
She asked her victims for R2 000 in return for a job in the South African Police Service, he said.
Although the police had so far identified eight victims, she was believed to have taken more than R300 000.
She started the scam some time ago, while working as a sergeant in Mthatha, continuing it even after she was promoted.
Fatyela said some of her victims were now policemen.
She was arrested after some of those victims came forward, he said, appealing to any others to do likewise.
The woman would appear in the Mthatha Magistrate's Court on Monday.
