Cop hurt, man killed in shooting

Johannesburg - A 32-year-old man was killed and a policeman seriously injured during a shootout in Yeoville, Johannesburg on Saturday, Jsaid police.
Captain Mashadi Selepe said the shoot-out took place when two constables from the Yeoville police station heard shots being fired in the area.
They went to investigate and saw three men fleeing on foot. They were allegedly trying to rob a woman of her cellphone, said Selepe.
The police chased the men, who started firing shots at them.
One of the policemen was shot in the head and a fleeing man was shot in the chest and died in the street.
The constable was admitted to Milpark Hospital where he was reported to be in a serious, but stable, condition.
Police arrested one of the men and the other one got away.
The man is expected to appear in Johannesburg magistrate's court on Monday.
