Nelspruit - A police switchboard operator accused of swindling 30 people out of R75 000 after allegedly offering them jobs in the police service has not been asked to plead yet.
Lindiwe Tshabalala, 36, of KaNyamazane near Nelspruit, who operates the switchboard at Nelspruit police station, appeared briefly in the magistrate's court on Tuesday on 30 counts of corruption dating back to 2003.
Her bail of R3 000 was extended and the case was postponed to June 12 for further investigation.
The incidents in which she is allegedly implicated occurred between 2003 and 2007.
She was arrested on February 26 this year when the mother of one of the victims tipped off police.
