Cops arrest man for raping girl

2012-01-11 13:02

Johannesburg - A man has been arrested for raping a 7-year-old girl in Soweto, police said on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old man was arrested in Doornkop on Tuesday night, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

He said the man raped the girl in his shack. When she got home, she told her mother who went to the police.

A second man, also aged 33, was arrested in Dobsonville on Tuesday for trying to rape a 14-year-old girl, Makhubela said.

"The man had allegedly called the girl to his home to send her to a tuck shop, but when she returned he grabbed and forced her into the house and undressed her," he said.

"When he was busy undressing himself, the girl kicked him on his private parts and managed to run away and went straight to the police station."

Police found the man still in the house and arrested him.

Both men would appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

String him up! He does not deserve to be part of the human race particularly when he has shattered a young person's life in this manner. Who knows how many others he has also ruined?

Take both men, put them in a cell together and tell them that whoever rapes the other first can go free as a joke. Then stand back and enjoy…

There's something terribly wrong in this country. In fact, there's something wrong with a lot of people, there's something wrong in the government... we're pretty much screwed.

Something which is very wrong in this beautiful country of ours is the very thing which is "trying" to protect us law abiding citizens."CONSTITUTION"period.

How morally messed up must to you be to find a 7-year old girl sexually attractive?? I know just the medicine for this sick f*ck, a "skaap-rekkie"... As for the 14-year old girl who kicked the guy in the gonads, YOU GO GIRL! and a big thumbs up to whoever taught her to do this! Maybe if the men's mothers gave more of an "education" about respect we won't have this kind of stories in the news!

It is estimated that a woman born in South Africa has a greater chance of being raped than learning how to read.

When you want the ANC women's league to be at the forefront in Parliament ensuring that the judiciary gets the right ammunition to put an end to the heinous rape statistics of this country - where are you? The same place you were when the President of this country got away with the same -hiding behind gravy train aprons, whilst the carnage continues against our women and children!! Shame on you!

I do not understand how Winnie has a comment to make on everything and anything, yet when it comes to children/ women being raped, she is silent. Does it need to be commited by a white male before her/ ANC/ ANCYL/ ANCWL/ Government step in and take the moral high ground by stating punishment for these crimes will be severe? I am no racist and wish rape upon no one, but hope it would happen to the wrong person before someone with power over the people or government step in and act. I have 2 girls and a partner and if this happened to them, no law would stop me from punishing the accused.
