Pretoria - Several firearms as well as police clothes were found in a townhouse complex in Centurion, Pretoria police said on Thursday.
"The task team was doing routine patrols in the area when they picked up a tracker signal," said spokesperson constable Brenda Kgafela.
This led them to a residence inside the complex where they found a Toyota Camry, possibly stolen in a house robbery in Lyttelton in March.
"In the house they found an R5 rifle with 60 rounds of ammunition, a shotgun and two 9mm pistols."
In addition police also found several items of police clothing, including markings of police rank worn on the shoulders - two pairs for captain and two for sergeant.
Housebreaking equipment, four balaclavas, a police hand radio and a reflector jacket were also found on Wednesday evening.
"No one was found inside the house and police are investigating," Kgafela said.
