Knysna - Police officers in Knysna will stand in an identity parade on Tuesday after a woman was raped on Saturday, allegedly by policemen.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie said the 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two on-duty policemen in a marked police van in the Knysna main road.
"She was in a restaurant with some friends and had an argument, after which she decided to leave. She walked up the main road and found a parked police van," said Pojie.
"She asked them for assistance and the driver pulled her into the van and the passenger raped her," said Pojie.
The case was investigated by the George family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit.
"They are a specialised unit and independent from the Knysna police," said Pojie. The case was also reported to the Independent Complaints Directorate.
No arrests had been made, but members had been taken in for questioning.
"We will make arrests when we get a positive identification from the ID parade," said Pojie.
