Cops hunt George 'fraudster'
Johannesburg - The police's commercial branch in George, in the Western Cape, called on the public on Thursday to help find Bernard Vlok, who is being sought in connection with various fraud cases.
"He failed to appear in the George Magistrates court on 21 July 2010 after being charged with fraud. Subsequently a warrant for his arrest had been issued by the court," said Captain Malcolm Pojie.
"The charges stem from allegations that he received money from clients to invest on their behalf."
"However, when they enquired about their investments, they discovered that none of their money had been invested."
Vlok, also known as Barry, last operated in the George area in the Western Cape but has since moved to the eastern parts of the country, said Pojie.
Anyone with knowledge on his whereabouts should call Detective Sergeant Piedt at 044 803 4669, 082 4003 956, 082 5223 238 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
