Cops hunt suspect after Germiston jailbreak

2012-04-20 18:02

Johannesburg - Four men escaped from the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Friday, Gauteng police said.

The men slipped out of the court holding cells around 09:00, said Lieutenant Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou.

"A photographer who was coming to attend court proceedings noticed the break-out of the suspects and notified the police."

Before a manhunt was launched, police in the area managed to re-arrest two of the men, but the other two got away. A third man was later re-arrested.

The fourth man, who would have appeared on charges of housebreaking, was still being sought.

"A case of escape from lawful custody has been opened and the men will appear in court on Monday," Ndou said.

Just another day in the "well oiled" police department! The photographer had to report the escape-go figure! He should of snapped some pics of what the alert cops were doing at the time!
