Cape Town - Four men were arrested on Friday following a dramatic shoot-out on a busy main road just outside the Cape Town CBD.
Several men apparently carrying suitcases entered a fast food outlet in Victoria Road, Woodstock, brandished weapons and tried to rob the business, staff told Eyewitness News.
One of the staff members managed to trigger the alarm.
Luckily, police officers were also on a routine patrol in the area. They approached one of the suspects who began firing shots at the officers.
Police returned fire and managed to wound one of the robbers.
EWN also reported that the robbery resulted in an accident between a bus and taxi but an eyewitness told News24 there was none.
However, the police nabbed them and arrested all four men. A getaway vehicle was also recovered.
The men, all in their early thirties, will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
