Polokwane - Two men who robbed a general dealer and then hijacked a bakkie from a shopper are due to appear in court on Thursday.
The suspects, aged 29 and 34, were arrested by police shortly after speeding away from Chobe general dealer at Mamehlabe village 25km southeast of Polokwane in Limpopo.
"The bakkie was loaded with the groceries and other goods they had stolen," said captain Mamphaswa Seabi of Capricorn police on Wednesday.
The men had pretended to be customers, but then drew guns and threatened the shop owner and his assistant.
Police did not recover the pistols, but they did recover all the stolen items.
"We believe they might have thrown the guns away during the chase," said Seabi.
The suspects are expected to appear in Matlala magistrate's court.
