Cops nab toy gun-robbers

Johannesburg - Three men were arrested in Delmas on Tuesday for hijacking a truck transporting cargo worth about R160 000, Mpumalanga police said.
Four men hijacked a Sea World truck on the R50 road using a toy gun.
Three of them were arrested on the scene minutes after the truck driver alerted the police, said Captain Leonard Hlati.
"During the hijacking the truck driver managed to escape on foot and he was spotted by patrolling police who rushed to the scene. When we arrived at the scene [the robbers] tried to run away but they were captured after one of them was shot in the leg," said Hlati.
Police are looking for the forth man who was transporting the three men.
"He fled the scene in a Toyata sedan after the hijacking. We are also investigating whether the hijacking was an inside job," he said.
The men were charged with hijacking and they are expected to appear the Delmas Magistrate's Court soon.
