Cops probe KES pupil's stabbing

Johannesburg - Police were investigating the death of 18-year-old Mfundo Ntshangase on Monday, who was stabbed by boys from a rival school at a party in Randburg in the early hours of Sunday.
"A special task team has been set up for the investigations, and police are doing their utmost to make arrests," said Captain Cheryl Engelbrecht.
Ntshangase, a Grade 11 pupil at King Edward VII school in Houghton, and another schoolboy were stabbed after the schoolboy claimed he stepped in to help his friend once pupils from a rival school started pushing him around at 03:00.
Ntshangase was stabbed several times in his chest and back, and the other pupil was stabbed in his chest.
The other school boy was taken to hospital, and was in a serious condition. Ntshangase was placed on emergency life support, but did not survive.
"No arrests have been made at this stage, since it is still very early. We can confirm that he was stabbed with a sharp object," Engelbrecht said.
