Cops probe Pistorius steroid theory

Pretoria - Boxes of drugs believed to be steroids and
evidence of sexual activity retrieved from Oscar Pistorius's bedroom are being
tested by the police forensics science laboratory, according to a report on
Tuesday.
Police sources told The Times that drugs and several
syringes, still sealed, were found in a bedside drawer in Pistorius's home.
Blood and urine samples taken from Pistorius shortly after
he allegedly shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, are also being tested, to
determine whether Pistorius was in possession of, or on steroids at the time of
the incident.
Pistorius’s lawyer Kenny Oldwage said on Monday night: “I am
not going to comment on that. The allegation has not been levelled against us
or specifically put to us so I am not going to comment on it.”
A source said when Pistorius was questioned by cops about
the drugs, he told them he was keeping them for someone else.
Steroids can only be obtained via a doctor’s prescription
and then have a limited period of use due to severe side effects.
A police officer, who was not identified, said the evidence
of sexual activity from Pistorius’s bedroom would be analysed for DNA to
determine who it came from and whether it was from the night of the killing.
Pistorius will appear in court on Tuesday to apply for bail.
