Couple, hitman guilty of murder, fraud

2012-02-16 10:27

Cape Town - A married couple and a hitman have been convicted in the Western Cape High Court of killing a Cape Town school principal, according to a report on Thursday.

Acting Judge Boet Smit on Wednesday found Yalezwa and Vuyisile Ndzumeka and Luvo Nketho guilty of the attempted murder and murder of Sithembile Mathiso High School principal Bongani Dingana, the Cape Times reported.

He also found Nketho and Vuyisile Ndzumeka guilty of the murder of acting principal Mandisa Ndziba, who stepped in after Dingana's slaying. She was killed two months after Dingana as she was asking questions about stolen money, according to the report.

The three took out funeral policies in Dingana's name in 2009, declaring themselves beneficiaries.

Nketho was hired to kill the principal, but failed in a first attempt on April 16, 2009. Two months later, Dingana was shot dead while walking home on crutches.

Smit also convicted the couple of fraud for the policies taken out.

Sentencing was expected on March 19.

If this wasn't murder I'd be laughing. First they shot the principle, failed, then had a 2nd bite at the cherry (proving this wasn't random). Then they murdered the vice principle (making this more than likely work related). Then to top it off, they put their name to the crime by taking out a policy. The cops probably took a whole 2 hours to figure this one out!!!

      Bryan - 2012-02-16 11:23

What a bunch of complete idiots!!! @Warren.., Looking at some of the dimwits in our police force it probably took them a lot longer than that to figure out the obvious.

This married couple and the hitman have no *PRINCIPLES*. Now they going to spend their honey moon in a 4x4 prison cell.

  • Garth - 2012-02-16 10:56

Take out a `funeral policy' on someone; name yourself as the beneficiary. Then shoot that person, fail to kill them, so shoot them again at a later date. Proclaim innocence whilst trying to collect on policy. Darwin award, highly commended. Unfortunately they did not die for their efforts. These people are clever enough to lead the useless, worthless anc. A luta continua, victoria ascerta!

I think the public should a say in how these people die, my first suggestion is we remove their knee caps then slowly pluck each hair out, teeth etc then the rest is to the forum, has to be a very slow death......

  • Vuyo - 2012-02-16 11:55

Do they have a right to live ,after depriving a family the same right. They should be removed from the face of this world , especially that they did it out of greed.

  • TaniaSandraSteyn - 2012-02-17 01:22

Ugh. This just makes my stomach turn. All the wasted money for the victims' education, all the love lost to their families, and the absolutely cold-hearted, calculating modus operandii. Death should be their only reward.
