Johannesburg - Dozens of people packed courtroom A of the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday ahead of the appearance of a man accused of killing four-year-old Taegrin Morris.

Family and supporters filled the benches of the courtroom and lined the aisle of the court. An extra bench was brought in to accommodate the group.

They sat patiently awaiting the appearance of a 32-year-old man arrested for his alleged involvement in the toddler's death. He faces charges of murder and hijacking.

The front part of the court was occupied by photographers and cameramen.

Earlier, the crowd gathered outside the court where some were handed T-shirts bearing the words "Genoeg is genoeg", (enough is enough).

They formed a circle, held hands, and prayed.

"It has been three months of crying. We are to thank God for the arrest of this man. We've been waiting for this", said one man in the crowd.

The man allegedly involved in crime was arrested in Katlehong on Tuesday.

"The suspect was positively identified as one of the hijackers who hijacked the family while visiting a relative on the day", Colonel Noxolo Kweza said.

Morris died after being dragged for a long distance behind his parents' hijacked car in July. He was in a VW Golf with his mother, father, and sister when three men approached them in Reiger Park.

The men ordered the family out of the car. Taegrin was left hanging from his seat belt and dragged along the road as the hijackers drove away. He was found dead in Boksburg, about 10km away.
