Durban - A group of uniformed high school children holding candles gathered outside the Durban High Court on Monday ahead of the trial of four men accused of gang-raping a Durban woman in front of her father.
Exactly a year ago, 22-year-old Jessica Foord and her dad Tim were walking their dogs at a dam in Shongweni when five men confronted them.
Foord was repeatedly raped while her father was tied to a tree and forced to watch.
One of the attackers, who was a minor, was found guilty last year and sentenced to 17 years in prison of which part of the sentence would be spent at a juvenile facility.
On Monday, the four remaining accused were due to appear for the start of their trial.
The victim was seen at court supported by a huge crowd including children.
