Pretoria - Megan Croucamp may only be 8 years old but this brave little girl told her doctor to go ahead and cut off her leg, which had been the cause of great pain and discomfort to the little girl.

“I told the doctor: Cut it off,” she said on Thursday from her hospital bed at the Steve Biko hospital in Pretoria, reported Beeld.

Megan had become infected with the methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteria as a 3-year-old and had battled serious pain, discomfort and close to 17 operations over the past few years.

“All we could do for her was give her pain pills, which later didn’t work anymore,” said Megan’s father, Pieter.

But after the amputation, the little girl said: “I feel better now.”

They would now begin saving for a prosthetic leg.
