Johannesburg - The father of a boy found dead in a
dustbin in Soweto has been arrested for the murder, police said on Tuesday.
The boy, 11, from Jabavu, had been missing for a week,
but was found face-down in a dustbin on Saturday night, police spokesperson Kay
Makhubela said.
"Yesterday we reconstructed the crime scene and uncovered
some clues."
Blood was found on the father's clothing and next to the
dustbin. The boy's neck and legs had been broken.
"That led us to change the case from inquest to
murder."
The man, 47, was arrested and had been detained at the
Moroka police station.
He would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on
Thursday.
