Johannesburg - Former Nigerian Olympic athlete, Ambrose Monye, accused of the murder of a Pretoria woman, will know on Friday whether he will get bail, the SABC reported on Monday.

Monye was applying for bail in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.

He faces charges of murder, conspiracy to murder, and illegal possession of a firearm.

Chanelle Henning was killed in a drive-by shooting in Faerie Glen in November last year.

Monye, Willem Pieterse, police detective Gerhardus du Plessis, Preshan Singh and Andre Gouws were arrested days after Henning's murder.

State prosecutor Gerrie Nel argued that Monye was violent and untrustworthy.
