Delmas mom has reason to smile again

2012-10-03 09:01

Pretoria - The Delmas family that were devastated earlier this year by the gruesome murder of their 5-month-old baby boy and his daymother have reason to smile again.

The murdered baby’s mother, Rita Botes, 30, has just found out that she is pregnant again with twins, reported Beeld.

Botes said she had only just found out she was six weeks pregnant.

Doctors detected two heartbeats.

Botes underwent IVF treatment after her son’s death and said she and husband Wiets decided to try again for more children.

The country was shocked by the murder of little Wiehan and his daymother in May this year.

Botes described her twin pregnancy as a “double joy”.

Glad you aren't allowed the 'freedom' to mock and ridicule God like some cheap opportunist. Typical insecure atheist.

This is such awesome and blessed news of how great God is. He gives us His Grace even when we sometimes don't understand His will. His promise to us is so evident in this blessing! Lord keep your hand on these special people and their babies!

How is god so great, to take a little baby in such a gruesome way. The twins are a blessing, but not from god!

      Clayton Richard Delport - 2012-10-03 12:48

I love the fact that every atheist is bad mouthing God , do you know what free will is? Did the Lord kill them or did people do it? I just can't remember, ignorant groupies... Here's I fifth grade response, if I put a ant farm together and put ants inside am I going to make them do what I want? Am I going to make them not fight? Or am I going to leave them and let them do there own thing and just watch in awe and yes sometimes in shame.... It really is a shame that people can't have any faith without someone bashing it, you people should be more tolerant towards one another

      rowan.clark.10 - 2012-10-03 13:54

If we could all choose good over bad this would not have happened to their son. But surely you you can feel the joy that must come after such a big void in their lives and that is Good. Also brave choices are needed when it comes to being good, it is a lot harder.

My heart broke when I heard of the tragic murder of their beautifull little boy and I will always be sad to think of what these parents have gone through. I am happy to hear that Rita is going to have twins. I wish them all the healing and joy they deserve.

What a load of bull. Do you really believe any child can take the place of a child lost? I am happy for her pregnancy; but she and her husband has suffered a loss at the hands of a barbarian for which there is no remedy or replacement.

      Teuneman - 2012-10-03 11:10

I think you've lost the plot. I'm sure they did'nt get pregnant to forget or replace their lost child.

  • melanie.cowan.54 - 2012-10-03 09:58

    ah, so heart warming!

great news, just a pity the new babies will not take away all the pain of loosing a child. hopefully they will at least help ease the pain.

  • Teuneman - 2012-10-03 11:08

Congratulations! I'm very happy for them. May they have lots of joy and blessings with their new babies!

  • alta.joubert.96 - 2012-10-03 11:57

  • baldersnatch - 2012-10-05 16:11

I'm sure fertility treatments had nothing to do with it.

  • gert.swart.393 - 2012-10-05 23:42

Aan al julle happy clappies: Dit was nie julle god wat vir Rita op die paal gesit het nie. Dit was Wiets! Welgedaan, Wiets. Baie geluk Rita!

  • Christina Le Roux Basson - 2013-04-08 19:55

How wonderfull that Rita is expecting again and be doubly blessed with twins. The aweful news about the loss of their little boy, has saddened many a South African heart male or female. What a lovely boy he was. Now he made space for two little blessings right out of Gods hands. We all waiting for their arrival so we can welcome these two little miracles with love
