Dog tied up and burnt alive

2011-06-06 15:22

Johannesburg - A dog had to be euthanised on Monday after being set alight and left to burn in Daleside, Vereeniging, the SPCA said.

"The dog stood like a sculpture because it was too painful for her to move. No animal deserves this type of barbaric and cruel torturing," said Marlien Pieterse, manager of the Vereeniging SPCA.

The female Shar-Pei Cross was still alive when she was found on Monday tied up with electrical wiring. Her entire body was burnt.

"Her wounds were too severe, so the kindest thing we could do was to humanely euthanise her."

The SPCA and local police were looking for those responsible.

Criminal charges would be laid in terms of the Animals Protection Act.

Disgusting, the responsible person should be treated the exact same way. (tit for tat)

  • biskit - 2011-06-06 15:28

I hope the culprit suffers the same death

  • ferreira.charmaine - 2011-06-06 15:37

I hope the person who did this ROTS in HELL. How can they be so cruel! Animals never asked to be brought into this world, but I for one no matter come hell or high water will always have a place for an animal in my heart! Nawe why does it have to become a racial slur once again! If you can't just make a decent comment - please don't comment at all!

  • FRpower - 2011-06-06 15:41

Nawe and morentebo you two must be the dumbest wankers in the world.

      Worldwise - 2011-06-06 15:58

Nawe is just an unsophisticated troll. I have seen through him numerous times. Morentendo is the one to worry about as he has major anger issues he is trying to air on an internet forum using statements that show his lack of education or sophistication.

  • daboss247365 - 2011-06-06 15:44

Utterly barbaric behaviour, & this to an animal that will die for its owner out of sheer loyalty. May those responsible be robbed, raped, killed & their remains be dragged through the city streets & pissed on.

      Worldwise - 2011-06-06 16:00

A bit ironic to call the miscreants behaviour "utterly barbaric" considering the punishment you suggest for them.

  • Comic - 2011-06-06 15:45

Please someone find them and shoot them.

  • Queteepie - 2011-06-06 15:46

You make me want to puke!!!!! I am afraid to say you really miss the plot in most stories perhaps you should stop reading betewwn the lines!!!

  • Flinger - 2011-06-06 15:47

Its like Jerry Springer in here today...im really sad for the poor animal though.

  • Sho Fukamachi - 2011-06-06 15:47

Filth of society should be dealt with in the same way, but only after having been tortured for at least a week.

      allie - 2011-06-06 16:40

Do not worry. These barbarians get their day. The wheel turns.Look at the Sheik,he feinted death ,now his going mad.I wonder what is in the pipeline for Ju-Ju and Zum Zum?

  • Eric West - 2011-06-06 15:48

The SPCA should have put down the owner as well!

  • Dubya - 2011-06-06 15:48

Honestly, I think the people responsible for this should be tied up with electrical wire and set alight in the same manner. The dog didn't deserve it. The people responsible do deserve it.

  • RheaM - 2011-06-06 15:48

The "Animal Protection" laws should be amended to make it a criminal offence to harm an animal. that way these twisted sicko's would never get a job and hopefully die a painful death!! imagine what this demented person would do to a human? come on police, look at cctv, something has to give!

  • Lindetjie - 2011-06-06 15:49

WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO???????

      Matt - 2011-06-06 15:55

I know... people keep quiet with daily murder of humans, yet somehow a dog gets harmed and they want blood... hey the guy was cruel and the dog didn't deserve it, he should go to jail, but the torture and execution that people here are advocating? Gosh, if only you were all so passionate when humans are killed!

  • Sharon - 2011-06-06 15:50

How could anyone who is sane do this disgusting, horrific act against a defenseless dog. Find the piece/s of human waste who did this to the poor baby and let us the people dish out the punishment. They better catch this piece of human waste quickly, who know who could be next.

  • siren703 - 2011-06-06 15:53

its people with the same mentality as the ones that burnt the poor monkey .. Why are these fckers allowed to vote , or even allowed to have human rights?????

  • Tinkie - 2011-06-06 15:55

I don't even want to imagine the fear, pain and suffering this poor animal went through. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. Why do people have to be so cruel? Where was this dog's family? Was it perhaps one of them that no longer wanted the dog or the dog maybe pee'd on their floor? Yes, there are weirdos of all races that do sick things like that. Would they do this to their own children? A pet becomes part of your family. I am not saying it was a pet owner that did this, just speculating and trying to wrap my mind around this cruelty. Was it maybe some youngsters who thought it was cool, like those who like to put crackers up an animal's butt? I don't know and also don't really want to know the kid of person who would do something so heinous!!! May they never know a moments peace in their lives and I hope they suffer for their cruelty.

  • Haydn Gawrosnky - 2011-06-06 15:57

I hope this person suffers 100 times more that that dog dig. Oh and does it matter what colour the person is that did it. Come on people grow up!

  • Tinkie - 2011-06-06 15:57

Sorry, "don't really want to know the kid of person" should read "don't really want to know the KIND of person"

  • ohwhatever@24.com - 2011-06-06 15:58

What saddens me is, even if they find the person(s) responsible, the punishment will be minimal. The legal system needs to realise that animal cruelty has been proven to be the beginning of human cruelty - those that are willing to torture and abuse a poor, innocent animal, only move on to humans soon after. We need to punish animal abusers to the full extent of the law, punish them with the same penalties as if that animal was human. That poor dog - at least it has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge where it suffers no longer and does not need to be scared of us horrible humans any longer. We must be the worst species walking this earth (and yes - we to are ANIMALS, just keep that in mind! We have no more rights than any other animal on this earth, we just think we are superior!)

HOW THE FCUK DID THIS BECOME A RACE ISSUE????

      Matt - 2011-06-06 16:17

      Trolls, apparently

      Spoofed - 2011-06-06 16:25

      Ask Nawe...

  • Smaal - 2011-06-06 16:02

Why can’t this happen to a few politicians and associated comrades! Why do they have to burn this poor dog?!?!

  • Charls - 2011-06-06 16:08

This Shar-Pei that was burnt alive - what are the chances that it is the same person who cut off the tail of a dog recently. The SPCA should look into both cases possibly being related. Alternatively, Vereeniging appears to be the place to be for sick people who commit major acts of cruelty on animals.

  • Delia - 2011-06-06 16:09

the person/s responsible must be dealt the same fait. OMG thats the most barbaric thing i have heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TrailerTrash - 2011-06-06 16:11

@Nawe - Actually if you watch animal cops houston, animal cops philidelpia, animal cops texas ect...you will clearly see that even in America where blacks are far more intelligent and evolved than her in Africa 75% of animal cruelty cases are executed by blacks. Its in your genes and your lack of regard for animal or human life.

  • Krush - 2011-06-06 16:11

I cannot even read the article, I am so nauseas and sick. How can anyone do this? God asked us to look after animals. What kind of a sick, depraved person can do this and be allowed to walk the streets? Vengeance is His.

  • Currie_Mafia - 2011-06-06 16:11

.....the only thing sadder than this story, is the comments.. :(

  • Claude - 2011-06-06 16:12

  • Cheryl Roets - 2011-06-06 16:19

This kind of behavior is horrific and just makes me cry - how can anyone do this to an innocent animal. its just sick - i hope whoever does this to any animal goes to hell and suffers like the animal suffered.

  • SIR WILLIAM - 2011-06-06 16:22

  • My5cents - 2011-06-06 16:33

Some of these comments are as disgusting as the article.

  • Vela Stardust - 2011-06-06 16:33

To keep pets should be a privilege and not a right. Whoever is responsible for this horrid act of cruelty should face a life ban on ever owning animals again.(Along with everything else the law can throw at them).

  • Hydrocynus - 2011-06-06 16:35

Karma is a b*tch. One day those responsible for this will get what they deserve.

  • frankow3 - 2011-06-06 16:35

Now clearly, no normal human could do a thing like this!...it makes you wonder, ...what next!
