Cape Town - The gardener of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu's daughter appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in connection with her domestic worker's death, Western Cape police said.

Captain Frederick van Wyk said Olwethu Mathise, 22, was not asked not to plead and no charges were put to him.

The case was postponed for further investigation.

Angela Mscinga, 35, was found strangled in Mpho Tutu's home in Milnerton on 12 April.

Her body was found lying on the bedroom floor. Her cellphone had been taken.

Van Wyk said Mathise was arrested at his house in Du Noon, Milnerton, on Sunday.
