Pretoria - The "fourth and last suspect" in the hijacking and murder in Pretoria last week of members of the Drennen family was arrested on Tuesday, police said.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Morne van Wyk said members of the serious and violent crime units of Pretoria and Ga-Rankuwa arrested a 22-year-old man in a house in Soshanguve at 15:45.
The arrested man would appear in the Temba magistrate's court on Thursday.
Van Wyk would not expand on how the arrest came to be made except to say that "information led us to the fourth and last suspect" in the case.
The arrests followed the hijacking of Janine Drennen, 24, her one-year-old daughter Kayla, and her fiance's mother Hester Rawstone, 52, in Sunnyside, Pretoria.
The hijackers shot Rawstone in the neck and dumped her body at the corner of Soutpansberg and Hebron roads in the suburb of Riviera.
They then drove to Stinkwater near Hammanskraal, where they kidnapped a teenaged girl. They raped Drennen and the girl, then shot them both and baby Kayla.
The teenaged girl survived and was admitted to the Jubilee Hospital.
