Johannesburg - The body of an 8-year-old boy was found on
Friday after he was swept away in a water canal on a farm in the Eastern Cape,
police said.
Aphelele Majoka's body was found floating about 9.5km
away from where he had disappeared, said police spokesperon Gerda Swart.
"The boy and his two friends were on their way home
from Kirkwood town and walking next to a canal on Tuesday afternoon," said
Swart.
Majoka fell into the water and was swept away at the Sun
Ad farm. His friends went to call for help.
Police divers were notified and made several attempts to
locate him from Tuesday without any success.
His body was finally located by the K9 unit on Friday
morning.
